Toronto Raptors are thinking that Pascal Siakam should be chosen to be the NBA’s most improved player.
Well, he certainly was their MVP on Friday night as the no. 2 seeded Raptors managed to win with a home court advantage.
Siakam scored 30 points along with 11 rebounds as he led the Toronto Raptors to win over the Orlando Magic by 98-93 on Friday night. He helped the team with his floater shot with 1:33 to the clock. With this win, Raptors now have a 2-1 lead over the Magic in the first round of the Eastern Conference’s playoff series.
Kyle Lowry, Raptors guard said, “he was unbelievable tonight. This year, he is certainly the most improved player in the NBA and he is only going to be great.”
Siakam said, “It was just what a defense gives and just going with it.”
Nick Nurse, Raptors coach said, “It really happened like what I thought it would be. I thought it was going to be a tough atmosphere to play in tonight.”
As for Orlando magic, they were led by Terrence Ross who scored 24 points while Nikola Vucevic who had a slow start scored 22 points with 11 rebounds for the team.”
Vucevic lamenting over team’s 16 giveaways said, “Our turnovers bit us again. We had too many of those tonight. Empty possessions against a team like this, you cannot have that.”
For Toronto, it was a historic day. It had been only the second time ever that the NBA’s Toronto Raptors and NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs won their playoff games on the same day. Leafs won their game in Boston. The only time that it happened before Friday was back on April 26th, 2001 which was the day when Raptors got their first postseason win.
Game 4 will be played in Orlando on Sunday night.
