In a brilliant performance, Romania’s Simona Halep was able to win over the 7-time winner of Wimbledon Serena Williams in the final of the Wimbledon in a match played at the Center Court to stun the world., this is the 2nd major Grand Slam title win for the 27 years old Halep in her career.
The Romanian is the winner of the 2018’s French Open and in her last 10 matches against Serena she had only won once before the win on Saturday.
As for Serena Williams, this was her third consecutive Grand Slam final defeat who still remains on her quest to win 24 Grand Slam title for tying with Margaret Court.
Halep only had 3 unforced errors in comparison to Serena’s 26 and was also able to have more shot power on her way to win the match in 56 minutes by 6-2 and 6-2.
In addition to winning her career’s first Wimbledon title, Halep has also become the only Romanian player to have won at the All England Club.
