Sinclair scores her 180th goal with Canada as they win over England by 1-0

As the ball came off bouncing from the English crossbar, Christine Sinclair, the Canadian team captain managed to bring it down with her thigh and nudged it in for a goal.

Christine Sinclair told media, “I like to think that I an act calm in such situations. I have been through such situations a few times in my career.”

This goal marks 180th goal for Sinclair with Canada.

For the 35 years old player, securing the victory was the most important thing and that she did on Friday night as they won over England by 1-0 in their build-up for the Women’s World Cup.

She is now only 4 goals short of tallying with the record of 184 goals made by Abby Wambach, the retired American player.

Sinclair said about this, “it is just an immense honor to be on this journey and to chase after Abby. At the moment my only focus for the goal is to be the thing for going into the World Cup.”

Sinclair had her goal in the 81st minute of the game being played at the Manchester City Academy Stadium, which broke the deadlock between 2 teams.

With this win, Canadians have not only defeated England in front of the 5682 fans but this was also their fifth win in a row without being beaten and without even conceding.

England is going to open its World Cup captain against Scotland on June 9th in Group D. the match will be played in Nice, France.
