The news is out about the two prominent names of the sports world getting engaged. 2017’s US Open winner Sloane Stephens has gotten engaged with the US soccer team player Jozy Altidore.
The news about the engagement was shared by both sports stars at the end of last month. They took it to social media platform Twitter to share a brief message along with few photos.
Sloane Stephens account showed the picture with the caption, “Forever Yes”. As for Altidore’s picture, it was captioned, “Forever starts now”.
Sloane Stephens has not only won the 2017 US Open tournament but has also been the runner up for the 2018’s French Open. She was also the member of the US Fed Cup team for the 2017’s championship.
As for Stephens’ rankings, she is currently ranked world no. 8.
Coming to the 29 years old soccer star Altidore, he has scored 41 goals for his team in his 110 international appearances. His first debut for the US national team was back in 2007 and has not played for the US team since 2017 after team’s losses at Tobago and Trinidad which had prevented them from playing in the 2018 World Cup.
Previously, Altidore in his career has represented the US team for the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. His professional career started back in 2006 when he was a member of the Major League Soccer team named New York Red Bulls.
In some major news, Altidore and Stephens both had been childhood friends who again reconnected with each other at the start of 2016. After that, they started their relationship which has now ended in engagement and soon will be in marriage.
