Athletic Bilbao scored 2 goals at the start of the 2nd half as they defeated Girona by 2-1. With this win, Athletic Bilbao is now one step closer in the European spots of the Spanish League on Friday.
Cristhian Stuani, the striker of Girona helped his team near the end of the 2nd half but visitors came back with scores in the 53rd minute by Inaki Williams and Raul Garcia in the 59th minute.
With this win, Athletic are now at the 8th place of the Europe League position while the 7th pace is held by Valencia and the 6th place is held by Seville.
As for Girona, they have remained without a win in their last 9 matches and are currently at 12th rank in the 20 teams standings.
