The Tampa Bay Lightning seems to be on their road for another sensational season this year.
Steven Stamkos led the Lightning as he scored a goal and had an assist while their goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 29 shots on Thursday night to win over the Toronto Maple Leafs by 3-1 on Thursday night.
With this win, Tampa Bay Lightning has become the second team in the NHL history who have won more than 60 games in a single season.
Tampa Bay who were coming off a 4-2 loss on Tuesday against Montreal has got a chance to tie with the 62 game wins record tie with Detroit Red Wings for the regular season finale which will be played on Saturday at Boston.
Jon Cooper, the Lightning coach said, “It would be really great to have 62 wins but the most important thing was that we got our game in check tonight. We thought that we left out in that Montreal game.”
Other 2 goals for Lighting were scored by Nikita Kucherov and Alex Killorn.
Cooper said, “That was a great game but that was also not a playoff game.”
As for Toronto’s single goal of the night, it was scored by Mitch Marner while their goalkeeper Frederik Andersen finished for the night with 26 saves.
Up next, Tampa Bay Lightning will be finishing the regular season on Saturday when they play at Boston. As for Maple Leafs, they finish their regular season with a game at Montreal on Saturday.
