Stuttgart Open; Raonic beats Tsonga to reach the quarterfinals

In the match between Milos Raonic and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Raonic was able to beat Tsonga by 6-4, 6-7 and 7-6 to reach the quarterfinals of the Stuttgart Open.

Raonic, who lost the chance to make it to the quarterfinals last year against Federer, also needed to have a tiebreaker against the Australian player Alexei Popyrin earlier on Tuesday. In this match, he hit 24 aces to defeat Tsonga in 2 hours and 27 minutes long match.

6th seeded Raonic will now face the Hungarian opponent Marton Fucsovics who earlier defeated Nikoloz Basilashvili by 7-6, 2-6, and 7-5.

In other matches of the day, Lucas Pouille was able to beat the 3rd seeded Daniil Medvedev by 7-6, 4-6 and 6-2 while German player Jan-Lennard Struff gained an easy victory over Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic by 6-2 and 6-2.

Their match was earlier delayed for nearly 3 and half hours on the grass court due to rain.
