The Super Smash has concluded as Central Stags won the third title with a 67 runs victory over the Northern Knights in Hamilton.
Dean Foxcroft of the Central Stags repeated the thing from 2018 as he scored 63 runs off of 50 balls to set a run chase for the reigning champions Knights at 148 for a win.
However, the Knights were not able to repeat the performance they did last year as their opener and wicketkeeper Tim Seifert only top scored at 18 runs with Adam Milne and Ajaz Patel fell with balls ultimately the entire Knights were bowled out at just a little over 80 runs in the 14.4 overs.
New Zealand’s stars were making a return for the final domestic T20 tournament. However, it was Foxcroft who turned out to be the start as he scored seven fours and 2 sixes in this entertaining innings to set a sore of 147-8 in 20 overs.
As for the last year’s winners; Knights were never able to replicate the performance from last year with only Milne bowling opener Nick Kelly for four and Doug Bracewell got two wickets by giving away only 10 runs.
Daryl Mitchell only scored 5 runs before his wicket fell to spinner Patel and Bracewell took the wicket of Knights’ captain Dean Brownlie at 15 runs.
Santner manages to score 13 runs but with most of their heavy hitters out of the play with only single-digit scores; Knights were skittled out of the match with a little over 80 runs, falling way short f their target.
