Surrey Scorchers has on the British Basketball All Stars Championship over the Leicester Riders with 36-33 in the overtime. The final was held at the Copper Box Arena.
Match’s standout performer was the MVP Jordan Williams who led the Scorchers to the final after defeating teams like Worcester Wolves and Bristol Flyers.
Scorchers under the supporting praise from the crowd managed to gain the victory from their opponents in the gripping last 12 minutes of the match. MVP Williams in the additional 60 sends time managed to land decisive points for Scorchers.
Williams after the game said to media that, “I feel great. Coming into this tournament and in front of my home crowd; all of it was crazy. We had a rough start for the season but we have come close together in this tournament. We played as a team and won it all.”
Coach Creon Raftopoulos said to media, “I am very happy for the guys. Many people did not give us a chance when we first came here but in the end, it all worked out well for us. It was a big thing to win the final. To be able to coach the guys and win this event is a great thing for me as well”.
