Susie Goodall who is a British yachtswoman confirmed her rescue on Twitter in which she states that she is on the ship that rescued her after she was stranded in the Southern Pacific Ocean.
The tweet came after Susie’s rescuer came to her aid after she was stranded 2000 miles from the Cape Horn after her boat was destroyed on the sea.
29 years old was competing in the 30000 miles across the world race. However, she met an unfortunate and ferocious storm during the race in the Southern Pacific Ocean.
Goodall before losing the race was in the four6th place of the Golden Globe Race when she met the 60 knots (69 mph) winds and massive oceanic waves which damaged her 36 yacht DHL starlight on Wednesday.
According to Susie, I was thrown across in the cabin and was lying there unconscious for a while.”
She sent a distress signal shortly after regaining consciousness and it was received first by the Falmouth Coastguard.
Coastguard then alerted the race control along with Chilean maritime search and rescue parties which are responsible for these sorts of circumstances in that particular sector of Pacific Ocean.
Goodall was the only female and the youngest competitor in the non-stop yacht race. Competitors of the race set off on 1st July 2017 from France and this race was expected to finish in nine months.
Eighteen sailors took part in this racer this time which for the first time took place in 1968. However, now more than half of the competitors have dropped out of the race.
