T20 series England VS West Indies; England wins T20 series over dismal West Indies

The T20 series between England and West Indies have been finally wrapped up with England winning it by 137-run in a thrashing victory over the Windies in St. Kitts. The hosts were dismayed by the blistering bowling performance from the visitors as they scored their second-lowest international score for T20 series.

England, who was put to bat first, struggled early on as the last 4 wickets fell at mere 32 runs in the sixth over. After that Joe Root and Sam, Billings stood for a splendid 72 run partnership to resurge the England’s innings.

Root scored 55 runs off of 40 balls as he made a classy half-century. As for Billings, he scored 87 runs off 47 balls to set the score for West Indies to chase at 182 runs.

And that was it for the day, as England blew out the West Indies batting order one by one to put water over their fiery win of the Test and Tied ODI series earlier in their international tour.

In the opening six-over power play, visitors lost their four wickets. However, Billings was ready to rpov3 himself a worthy candidate for a permanent position in England’s white ball squad as he scored 32 runs in mere last 2 overs. With this, he has set for himself his international cricket’s career-best score.

Much hope for Windies for the batting order was on Chris Gayle but he along with fellow opener David Willey fell in the third over at 2-18.

Gayle tried to chip one shot off Root’s delivery but the ball departed at leg side and went straight into hands of Morgan who despite having a collision with Tom Curran for the catch held on to the ball.

With Gayle, soon the whole batting order of West Indies fell to fierce bowling of England and thus concluding the T20 series.
