Ravindra Jadeja is not part of the India vs South Africa 1st Test. Skipper Rohit Sharma revealed during the toss that Ravindra Jadeja was left out of the playing XI due to a back issue. Ravichandran Ashwin was picked as a spinner in the playing XI.

The India vs South Africa Test series is set to kickstart on Tuesday, December 26 with the opening game. The match takes place at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
