Courtois revealed his plans of moving to Real Madrid back in March.
Thibaut Courtois reveals that he is feeling ‘sad’ at the anger of some Chelsea fans after his move to Real Madrid.
26 years old was with Chelsea for seven seasons and during those seven years he first three were spent on loan at Atletico Madrid. Now he has moved to Real Madrid in this year’s summer following a 35 million Pounds deal.
According to Belgium International’s report; Courtois made his decision of moving back in March but he delayed his decision reporting to Chelsea due to World Cup.
When the media officials asked Courtois as to how he thinks about the anger of some Chelsea fans on his sudden exit, he said that,
“It actually makes me feel sad at their anger. They don’t know the whole truth behind this. The decision was made back in March and I was certain that club would accept it without any hitch. After that transfer was closed and I decided to not come back and disturb the whole tam and squad. If I was to go there, I may be toxic and that would be a pity because I absolutely love Chelsea. I loved my time playing for Chelsea. While I was there I won two Premier Leagues, a league cup and an FA Cup. I hope it will turn around for better.”
After his move to Real Madrid, Courtois told media that, “level at Real Madrid is actually much higher than Chelsea but I don’t want to disrespect my team”.
Another major reason given by Courtois in relation to his move to Real Madrid was to be closer to his two children who happen to live with his ex-girlfriend in Real Madrid. He hopes that fans of Chelsea will understand this.
