Thousand Oaks shooting incident; Brewers’ Christian Yelich, Packers’ Clay Matthews offer support

On Wednesday night a mass shooting incident occurred at the Southern California bar. The specialty of that bar is, it is in the neighborhood where a pair of famous professional athletes grew up.

The bar named “Borderline Bar & BBQ Grill” in Thousand Oaks suffered a casualty of 12 people after a gunman opened fire.

The outfielder for Milwaukee Brewers Christian Yelich went to the nearby high school. A few minutes away from that very school, the Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Mathews also lived there.

Yelich tweeted Thursday afternoon, it is heartbreaking when such tragedies occur and especially in your hometown. Thousand Oaks is a great community and will support all those who need it most”.

While Yelich went to the Westlake High School, Mathews played football at a nearby Aurora High School which is only 10 minutes away from Westlake.

Mathews who currently resides in Calabasas, California said on Thursday, “it is just such a shame. It is completely senseless. Especially as it happened so close to home. It is terrible; I don’t know what to say. Unfortunately, it is happening more and more than it should never happen. Senseless and tragic is all I can say. My prayers are with families of victims”.
