In the Thursday night fight between Jason Quigley VS Tureano Johnson held in Indio, California, it was Tureano Johnson who handed Quigley his career’s first defeat.

Quigley, the Irish fighter had to be pulled out by his trainer named Dominic Ingle after he fought through 9 grueling rounds on his way to lose his NABF title belt.

Quigley, who is the former standout in the amateur boxers, this defeat has greatly hampered his purist for the world title ‘El Animal’ as his career record now stands at 16-1.

As for the 35 years, old Johnson who had previously been defeated by top fighters like Sergiy Derevyanchenko and Curtis Stevens actually fought like a man who was on a mission to resuscitate his career. He relentlessly applied pressure on his opponent throughout the fight as he first staggered the Irish opponent during the 6th round before Quigley corner made the decision in the 9th to call the fight off.

Johnson, the victor from the Bahamas said, “I am here to win a strap, a big strap. I am here to become a world champion. Whoever has those belts, I want Charlo, I want Canelo, I want them all.”
