The total purse for this year’s US Open is going to be over 57 million dollars which is by far the richest in the history of tennis.
The champion of the men’s and women’s singles will each receive a sum of 3.85 million dollars whereas the champions of the men’s and women’s doubles division teams will win 740000 each. These are the highest payouts to the champions of the US Open history.
The US Tennis Association said that they have worked with both ATP and WT Torus in order to work out the round-by-round prize money and also these prizes for each round is the biggest ever recorded ones in the history of Grand Slam tournaments.
The payout for the first round starts at 58000 dollars for the singles matches.
USTA also said that they have made payment of nearly 50000 dollars to both ATP and WTA tours to help them support their player programs as well as pensions.
The final Grand Slam tournament of the year will be played on August 26th and will end on September 8th.
