Vivint Smart Home Arena after Utah Jazz VS Warriors game evacuated after due to a suspicious package

The Vivint Smart Home Arena; the home arena for the Utah jazz had to evacuate really fast after only 15 minutes so the game between Jazz VS Warriors on Friday night due to the presence of a suspicious package.

According to the police of Salt Lake City, this package was a toolbox and the employees were cleared for entering the arena after a couple of hours following the evacuation.

Most of the fans that came at the Vivint Smart Home Arena exited following the Utah jazz’s 113-109 win over the shorthanded Warriors. As for the coaches and the players, they were instructed to leave the Vivint Smart Home Arena as soon as possible.

It was not long after both of the team’s coaches had answered the post-game questions, the spokesperson for the Vivint Smart Home Arena told the reporters for exiting the building due to the presence of the suspicious package. Once outside, they were then instructed to leave the entire premise as soon as possible.

Players of Utah jazz immediately headed towards their cars held in parking lot. The emergency of the exit was evident from the fact that Rudy Gobert of jazz left the Vivint Smart Home Arena within his player’s uniform. As for the Warriors’ players, they left on their team bus.

A statement was released by the officials of the arena which reads as follows,

“Guest safety is the top priority at Vivint Smart Home Arena At the conclusion of the Utah Jazz-Golden State game, an employee noticed an unattended package on the main concourse. Upon further examination, it was concluded we would enact our emergency action plan. Security was promptly alerted and guests have diverted away from the area and cleared from the arena. Salt Lake City Police Department assumed control of the situation, executing its suspicious package protocol. We would like to thank fans for their attention and cooperation, as well as the Salt Lake City Police Department for their responsiveness and partnership.”

This suspicious package appeared to be a shoebox that was found underneath one of the tables at the restaurant located on the northeast of the Jazz’s hometown arena.
