Warriors playing without Durant, defeat Rockets by 106-104

In this first season of DeMarcus Cousins playing with Golden State Warriors, he still needs some time to adjust himself for the level of interest as well as scrutiny that is part of being playing for a team that is defending back-to-back Championships.

This is why, after his best performance with the team yet on Wednesday night in their victory over the Houston Rockets, he linked the media covering the team in frenzy to a soap opera that his grandmother sued to watch.

He said, “I am sure that all of you have heard of it, it is called ‘As The World Turns’. My grandmas used to call it her sorties. I used to watch every episode of this dram with her and each of the episodes was something different. This is what this has turned to, ‘As the World Turns’.”

DeMarcus Cousins led the Warriors with his season-high 27 points to win over the Houston Rockets by 106-104.

Media asked him if he wants to star in the basketball version of the said sow to which he replied, “No, I don’t want to. I am a basketball player and I only play basketball. I am not looking to act in any drama or stories like that or anything.”

Cousins who earlier missed 47 games with Warriors this reason due to his Achilles tendon injury had a chance to shine on Wednesday as Kevin Durant was out due to an ankle injury. In addition to his 27points, he also scored 8 rebounds along with his season-high 7 assists.

Klay Thompson added in his 30 points to lead the Warriors to win to bounce them back from their Sunday night’s loss against the Phoenix Suns.

As for Rockets, they were led by James Harden, who scored 29 points with 10 assists while Chris Paul scored 24 points.

Up next, Warriors will play against the OKC Thunder on Saturday night while Houston Rockets will play against the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.
