In the game 2 of OKC Thunder, Russell Westbrook called his performance to be poor.
As for Game 3, it was more than acceptable. He led the team with his 33 points along with 11 assists as OKC Thunder won over the Portland Trail Bazers by 120-108 on Friday night. With this win, Thunders are now 2-1 on the first round of the playoff series.
Paul George, the forward of Thunder called Westbrook to be a man of his words.
George said, “He led and we got behind him. He put us all on his back tonight.”
George scored 22 points for the team while Jerami Grant added in his 18 points while Denis Schroder scored 17 points for the team.
As for Portland Trail Blazers, they were led by Damian Lillard who scored 32 points for the team 25 of which were scored in the 3rd quarter. He, however, missed four of his field goals during the 4th quarter.
Talking about OKC Thunder’s 4th quarter strategy, Lillard said, “Their defense pretty much stayed the same as the rest of the game. As for the offense, they got a little aggressive. Instead of coming up right in front of me, they came up a little higher.”
Other players from Trail Blazers’ side like CJ McCollum scored 21 points while Enes Kanter scored 19 points for the team.
Lillard said of Westbrook’s bank shot, “I Did not even saw him make the shot. A lot of time in the game, I am looking at the ball to be inbounded at me. I am not looking most of the time the other way. So rock the baby on a jump shot? You can do that all day.”
Westbrook, with 1;41 to the clock, scored a 26 feet huge 3-pointer shot to let the Thunder maintain a 14 point lead.
The Game 4 for the first round of the playoff series in what is a best of 7 series, will be played on Sunday in Oklahoma.
