On Sunday night’s fight of boxing between Luis Ortiz VS Christian hammer, Ortiz came out with a win by unanimous points decision. He now wants his shot for a fight against Anthony Joshua or of a rematch against the Deontay Wilder.
Ortiz, whose career record is 31-1 with 26 Knockouts, has won his third consecutive win after suffering the one defeat of his. His only defeat of the career was in the 10th round of his fight against the WBA champion Deontay Wilder when they were fighting for the title in New York last year in March.
Although this was not a victory for Ortiz by knockout unlike his previous fights, he is still not feeling down over it and has his goals set on either Wilder or Joshua.
Ortiz, the Cuban boxer said, “Every boxer out in the world should be aware that I still got it all even at age 40. Be it AJ or Wilder, I am ready for anyone.”
During the fourth round, Ortiz severely damaged Hammer’s nose as it was bloody. However, Hammer responded back with a good right-hand punch in the fifth round that left Ortiz’s face bloodied.
Hammer with his career record of 2-6 is a Romanian born who is currently residing in Germany. During his fight with Ortiz, he was seemingly enjoying his big shot to fight in New York. Even after the defeat, as Ortiz was doing his post-fight interview with his young daughter alongside, Hammer was waving to crowd frantically and was posing for pictures.
Hammer said, “Without a doubt, Ortiz is one of the great and experienced fighters in the game. He is not only technical but also smart. However, one thing that I do not find him to be is that he is not intimidating. I respect Ortiz as a fighter but I am still not sorry to say that he is not the best fighter I have ever faced in my career.”
