Tiger Woods relishes at chance for representing US team at Ryder’s Cup

Tiger Woods is celebrating the fact that he has not only been chosen as Jim Furyk’s wildcard but will also be repressing US team at Ryder’s cup.

Woods finished as the 11th rank in the qualifying rankings and he is going to make his eight Ryder Cup appearance that will be held later this month at Le Golf National. He was chosen alongside Bryson DeChambeau and Phil Mickelson as the first of three picks by captain.

Woods was not able to make it into last two contests due to his injury and only made appearance in past November. However in this little time of comeback he has made it into World’s Top 30 Golfers list.

Woods told media on Tuesday that, “to have a chance to go to Europe and to have an opportunity to win the Ryder Cup and also be with the group who has the opportunity to go there; this feeling and opportunity is really exciting”.

He further added, “I made it to my first team of Ryder Cup at Valderrama with team leader like Payne Stewart. It was a great learning experience for me as Payne Stewart helped me understand the importance of Ryder Cup. From that moment on I have always tried my best to be part of every team for Ryder Cup”.

Woods who formerly held the role of team leader in 2016’s contest held at Hazeltein has now been relieved of his duties. He is being replaced for this role by players like David Duval, Zach Johnson and matt Kuchar.

Furyk on this told media that, “Tigers and I have been friends for lot of time. We have spent long time discussing the strategies and pairing as vice captains. It is really great to have his help. You know the feeling is actually great to have one of the best minds in the history of Golf to be on your side and helping you”.
