Anthony Crolla victorious in his farewell fight held in Manchester

Anthony Crolla in his farewell fight held in Manchester against Frank Urquiaga was able to win it and with the vacant title of the WBA Continental Lightweight belt.

Anthony Crolla, who last fought for a pound-for-pound fight against Vasiliy Lomachenko back in April, was able to win the fight on the verdict of 95-95, 98-92, and 97-93 against his opponent. With this win, Anthony Crolla has brought down the curtain on his impressive career of 45 fights in his favorite Manchester Arena.

Anthony Crolla said in the interview, “I thought that I had done enough and I know that the time was up. I had a very great career and I loved every minute of it. Manchester, thank you so much, I have lived the dream. I enjoyed the fight as I knew I was past it. I do not want to hang around and be a stepping stone for others.”

The powerful Anthony Crolla fighting for 14th time at this venue where he started his professional career to win and lose his world title was forced to be on the back foot by his opponent.

Crolla started finding his rhythm during the 2nd round but his Barcelonan opponent continued to be a threat as he landed shots both on his body and head.

After both of them had traded shots during the 3rd, Urquiaga was able to find him with targeting his body during the 4th.

Anthony Crolla, the former champion of WBA then backed his rival during the 5th as he landed one-twos from up close and then got behind his long jab during the 6th.

Anthony Crolla then continued with the trademark ramrod jab in 7th and then evaded wild punches of his opponent to land a nice hook to finish the round.

The penultimate round saw Anthony Crolla trying to back Urquiaga but his opponent refused to do so.

In the final round, Anthony Crolla upped his game with the crowd backing him up with cheers to finish the round on a high. He won the fight on the majority point decision. He retired with a career record of 35-7-3.
