Butler leads as Miami Heat hang on to win over Pistons by 117-108

Jimmy Butler is fully aware that this team of Miami Heat can get much better than they are right now.  With this being said, he is quite happy with their start.

Butler led the Miami Heat with his 20 points during the 4th quarter along with 13 assists as the team won over the Detroit Pistons by 117-108. Miami Heat earlier had a lead of 29 points which they squandered but the hang on till the end to win the game.

Butler said, “We wanted it to be tough to come here and play this game.  We don’t want the people to come here and then want to simply play the Miami Heat.  We don’t want other teams to come and play the Miami Heat, whether it is a home game or away.”

Kendrick Nunn also scored 20 points for the Miami Heat while Bam Adebayo added in his 18 points with 14 rebounds. For Heat, who are 7-3 on the season, Goran Dragic also added in his 18 points. At the moment, Heat is having their third-best 10-game start of the franchise history.

As for Butler’s 13 assists without any turnover was the fifth game in the history of the Miami Heat franchise and their first one since Dwayne Wade left-back in 2009.

As for Detroit Pistons, they were led by Luke Kennard who was first 0 for 7 on the 3-pointers but then led the team with his 22 points while Andre Drummond added in his 16 points alongside his 9 rebounds before he fouled out. Christian Wood also added in his 16 points for the Pistons.

Erik Spoelstra, the coach of Miami Heat said, “The games of NBA are long.  You need to play all the way to the end. Still, these are good experiences for a team.”

Up next for Miami will play a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday whereas Detroit Pistons will meet up with the Charlotte Hornets on Friday.
