In the match of the Spanish Super Cup held against Real Madrid and Valencia, Madrid was able to have respite with a clever goal from the striker Toni Kroos that sent that allowed for Madrid to win by 3-1 on Wednesday. With this win, Real Madrid has now made it to the final of the Spanish Super Cup that is being held in the new format in Saudi Arabia.
The other 2 goals for Real Madrid were scored by Francisco “Isco” Alarcón and Luka Modric respectively as they advance to the finals which will be held on Sunday against the winner of Barcelona VS Atletico Madrid. The match between these two teams will be held on Thursday.
Kroos was able to score the goal by curling the right foot shot from the corner flag during the 15th minute of after he spotted Jaume, goalkeeper of Valencia to be out of his position. Domenech was talking to his teammate when Kroos curled the shot in the corner and nothing was in the way to stop the ball from going inside the net. Domenech punched the all in an effort to stop it but it still inside the net from the top.
Denis Cheryshev, the forward of Valencia said, “It was the lack of concentration from all of us. I think it has affected us mentally and after this, the goal became harder.”
Isco then led with a shot from the inside during 39th as Modric sealed the win for Real Madrid with a clean shot from the outside on a right foot hit during the 65th minute.
Casemiro, the midfielder for Madrid said, “We were in control of the game from the very start. We wanted to have control of the possession and that is what we did. Everything happened as we planned for it. We can now start thinking about playing in the final.”
This is the first year for Spanish Super Cup when it is being played with 4 teams. Prior to the revamp format this year, Spanish Super Cup was played between the winner of Spanish League and Copa del Rey.
