At Boston Celtics VS San Antonio Spurs game, a fan was arrested for throwing beer on court

A fan was arrested on Wednesday night at the game of Boston Celtics VS San Antonio Spurs for throwing beer on the court after the start of Celtics Kemba Walker was ejected on a controversial call at the venue of TD Garden.

Into the middle of the 3rd quarter, walker had apparently ran into the hard screen that was set up by Spurs’ LaMarcus Aldridge. Walker went straight into him and went down hard. After the play got stopped on a separate foul, Walker reached or the referee Evan Scott who was behind him on the play. He was upset as to why a foul was not called on Aldridge.

Walker pleaded his case briefly before he was seen yelling at the official who then assessed him for 2 quick technical fouls and also ejected him. The crowd erupted in noises of boos as Brad Steven; coach of Celtics also received a technical foul as he argued on behalf of Kemba Walker.

As the officials were sorting these fouls amidst the loud boos, a bottle or a cup landed near the bench of Spurs with a big splash before continuing to roll onto the court.

Still, no one got wet by the drink and the game was only briefly delayed while the drink was cleaned up. Shortly after the game ended, Spurs released a statement saying that a fan was identified responsible for throwing beer and was arrested.

Stevens said that he has apologized to Spurs coach Gregg Popovich.

This was the 1st ejection for Kemba Walker in his 9-year career in the NBA and it came when Celtics were trying to mount up their rally on the Spurs after they had earlier failed to take lead in the first half. Spurs were able to push this lead as much as by 20 points and went on to beat the Celtics by 129-114.
