Khabib Nurmagomdov after his win against Conor McGregor and the huge melee fight after defends his action and also says that Putin is proud of him.
Nurmagomdov after his fourth-round victory due to submission of McGregor made a brief media statement about the after fight fracas but he was still not repentant of his actions.
He told the media reporters that, “Firstly I want to extend my apologies towards the Nevada Athletic Commission. But McGregor talked badly about my religion and he talked about my father. Why are people talking as to how I jump on to the cage? He came to Brooklyn and almost killed a couple of people.
Those remarks from Nurmagomdov were pointed to him leaping out of Octagon to brawl with McGregor’s team member shortly after McGregor admitted defeat by tapping out suffering from a rear naked chokehold. The remarks were also pointed towards McGregor who in April launched an infamous attack on a bus in Brooklyn that was carrying Nurmagomdov.
Nevada Athletic Commission has currently withheld the 2 million dollars fight check of Khabib following his Saturday night victory until the investigation is complete.
McGregor was also in the wrong greatly as he made a series of verbal attacks on Russian for the buildup of the fight. These verbal attacks were made about family, Khabib’s muslin faith and the Dagestan religion of Russia.
Nurmagomdov in his interview further stated that, they call him two-weight world champion but today he admitted defeat by tapping out. This is a respected sport instead of being a trash-talking sport. I want to change this sport. I don’t want opponents to talk trash about their opponent’s personal life affairs; about their father, about their religions. You cannot talk about any person’s religion and nation. For me, this is very important”.
He further said to media that, “I am very proud right now; Putin just called me and said to me that he is very proud of me”.
