Novak Djokovic was in the great mood after defeating his Shanghai Masters final opponent. With this win over Borna Coric, Djokovic was able to win his fourth Shanghai Masters title on Sunday night.
31 years old Djokovic is in very best form of his game this year. This is the 18th consecutive ATP victory of his career. He made it past his highly rated Croatian opponent; Borna Coric by 6-3 and 6-4 and sealed himself the fourth title of the year.
Djokovic after his game said to media, “I have been performing really great throughout my career in China. This is most definitely the special place for me”.
Serbian who was suffering from an elbow injury earlier in February, managed to make a comeback to the sport by winning the Wimbledon and this year’s US Open last month. He is now going to be on the second rank of the world rankings that are going to be renewed on Monday morning. However, he is still aiming to get the number 1 spot of Rafael Nadal by the end of this year.
Borna Coric, who earlier made it to the final by defeating the top seed Roger Federer, has now lost in his efforts to steal the first set in his fourth meeting with Djokovic.
Serbian managed to gain the first set with hold to love and just dropped four points on his serve.
21 years old Coric was not able to perform rather well in the second set of his first ATP Masters final. He dropped the serve in the opening game of the second set. Djokovic managed to gain the victory in under one hour and 36 minutes.
Djokovic the 14 time Grand Slam Champion has now managed to extend his winning streak to 18 matches. He is currently 27-1 since the start of Wimbledon.
