Lee Selby ‘The Welsh Mayweather’ announces his return to the ring and talks about his possible opponents

Lee Selby has announced that he is going to make a return to the lightweight boxing ring. He also revealed that he is looking for a domestic showdown against Anthony Carolla or Ricky Burns.

The Welsh Mayweather, Selby has not stepped in the ring since being defeated in May by hands of Leeds Warrior Josh Warrington. This fight cost Selby his IBF featherweight crown.

Selby is now looking forward to becoming the two weight world champion. Talking to media Selby said, “It was a massive struggle for me for gaining my fame down to the 9st featherweight title. Super feather was only 4lbs difference and I was not sure that this gain would give me any benefit. Lightweight is natural and I am ready to show that.”

Talking about his weight and training he said, “When I am at gym and sparring at my natural weight, I am known to be a big puncher. If I go down below 10st, my power decreases. Now I am going to show yu my power. To defend my title I had to stay at 126lbs. I never leave a title after working so hard for it, this would be quitting”.

Talking about his future opponents he said, “I want o to be in with top fighters. Biggest names that come to mind in lightweight are Carolla, Burns, and Campbell. I would love to get in the straight mix with them. I only want to have big fights regardless of them being domestic or international. I am ready to start in here”.

Talking about his preparations he said, “I am waiting on my am anger for confirming the details but hopefully I will make a return in December. I will take on any title shot or elimination.”
