Texas A&M vs LSU turned into a one-sided night at Tiger Stadium on Saturday. No. 10 LSU beat No. 23 Texas A&M 35-6 in Baton Rouge, with quarterback Sam Leavitt throwing for 312 yards and receiver Jackson Harris catching two touchdown passes. The Aggies never found the end zone and scored only two David Olano field goals.
The win lifts LSU to 3-1 (1-1 SEC) a week after its 32-24 loss at Ole Miss. Texas A&M drop to 2-2 and 0-2 in the SEC after back-to-back defeats, following last week’s 31-21 home loss to Kentucky.
How LSU beat Texas A&M
LSU set the tone on its opening drive, finishing it with a 1-yard Dilin Jones touchdown run. Leavitt then found Harris from 16 yards out to make it 14-0, and Olano’s 24-yard field goal left the Aggies 14-3 down at half-time.
The third quarter settled it. Harris got behind the defense for a 57-yard touchdown, and Landen Clark added short scoring runs of 4 and 2 yards as LSU piled on 21 points in the period to lead 35-3. Olano’s 53-yard kick was the only reply, and neither side scored in the fourth quarter.

Reed’s numbers tell the story of the Aggies’ night. He completed fewer than 40 percent of his throws, and seven of Texas A&M’s 12 drives ended in punts. They were also short-handed, playing without running back Jamarion Morrow and receivers Terry Bussey and Ashton Bethel-Roman because of injuries.
What it means and what’s next
For LSU, this was the response it needed after the Ole Miss setback, and it ended a two-game losing run against the Aggies. For Texas A&M, an 0-2 start in the SEC leaves little margin, with a trip to Alabama and games against Tennessee, Oklahoma and Texas still ahead.
