Tony Parker sparks Hornets to win over Nets buy 100-87

Charlotte Hornets coach, James Borrego, with 8 minutes left to the game subbed out Tony Parker.

18 years old player gave the coach a quizzical look as he walked towards the bench and told the coach that he is not tired. Borrego did not waste another second and sent Parker back into the game.

It proved to be a good decision.

Parker re-entered the game and scored 17 of his total 19 points for the night with only 6 and a half minutes to the game and led the team’s win by 100-87 over Brooklyn Nets.

Parker said, “He thought I was getting tired. I told him that I am not tired and I am ready to go again. He always thinks about the big picture as he worries about my age and my body because the most important time for the players in the playoffs. However I told him, J.B. we still have to get into the playoffs”.

Kemba Walker led the Hornet s with his 29 points which included his seven 3-pointer shots and Nets have no answer to his plays.

Kenny Atkinson, the Nets coach said, “Speed kills in this league and they got us by it. They just got in the heart of our defense and really hurt us”.

DeMarre Carroll scored 15 points for the Nets while D’Angelo Russell was the only Nets player to finish with 33 points. Things are not too bleak for the Brooklyn Nets as this was their only second loss in their last 11 games.

Up next, Brooklyn Nets will play against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday while Charlotte Hornets will play against the Washington Wizards on Saturday night.
