Spencer Dinwiddie of the Brooklyn Nets scored 25 points of his total 33 points in the fourth quarter as he spoiled Harden’ 58 points a game night to gain a victory for the Nets by 145-142 over the Rockets on Wednesday.
This was Harden’s second straight season high points following his 57 points in Rockets game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night. The Rockets on Wednesday nights shot the NBA record 70 3-pointers.
Harden this season has scored 30 or more points for 18 straight games and has also made 40 or more points in his last 12 games. On Wednesday night game, in addition to his 58 points, he also made 21 of 23 free throws along with 10 rebounds and 6 assists.
Dinwiddie forced the overtime as he made a 3-pointer with 30 seconds to the game. He again made a go-ahead basket with 28 seconds to the game.
Harden also made a free throw to gain 1 point lead for the Rockets while James Nunnally of the rockets scored a 3-pointer to make the score at 142-135.
The game was at 142-140 after Treveon Graham and Jarrett Allen both missed their shots. Nets grabbed a rebound and Dinwiddie made a 3-pointer to put the team ahead of Rockets by 143-142. Austin Rivers missed his 3-pointer for the Rockets while Joe Harris of the Nets made two free throws to set the game at 145-142 with 1.6 seconds to the game.
Houston Rockets had a chance to put the game in 2nd OT by making a tie at the buzzer but Gerald Green’s shot hit the rim and missed.
The game ended with Brooklyn Nets win by 145-142 over the Houston Rockets.
Up next, Brooklyn Nets will play against the Orlando Magic on Friday night while Houston Rockets will host a game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night.
