Despite the Los Angeles Angels being held to mere 5 hits on the Wednesday night, the great timing on all those hits helped them win their 6th game in a row.
Los Angeles Angels were playing without Mike Trout, their star outfielder still managed to win over the Milwaukee Brewers by 4-2. Angels scored all the runs on their 4 shots during the 3rd inning. The main help in this win for Angles was from Justin Bour who scored a 2-run single.
Angles who started the season with 1-5 are now 7-6 on the season. As for the missing Trout, he was absent due to his groin injury he suffered on Tuesday night and is expected to be back for the series in Chicago VS Cubs.
Brad Ausmus, the Angels manager said, “We had a rough opener of the season and since then we have picked up our offense. As for the bullpen, they have been consistent all the way through since the opener.”
As for Bour, he said, “it was an amazing homestand and it took the efforts from all of us to win this game.”
As for the Brewers, this was the first time they have swept away since the series All-Star break last year when they lost a 5-game set against the Pittsburgh.
Despite losing, Brewers, who are currently 8-5, are still holding on to the top of the NL Central with only 2 weeks into the new season.
Felix Pena had the first 4 innings for the Angels as he had 3 hits. Brandon Woodruff managed to only give up 4 runs as well as 4 hits in 6 innings while getting 7 strikeouts.
As for Milwaukee Brewers, Christian Yelich had 2 hits and had 2 runs while Lorenzo Cain also struck 2 hits.
Next, Milwaukee Brewers will be starting their 3-game series playing against Dodgers on Friday while LA Angels will play for a 3-game interleague series in Chicago.
