Asia Cup 2018; India secured a glorious win over Pakistan

India was able to crush the Pakistani team in the much anticipated match of Asia Cup. The match was held at Dubai stadium and didn’t exactly live up to its hype.

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first but unfortunately the team was all out at 162 runs in 43.1 over. The main credit to this early all team out goes to pace spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar and spinner Kedar Jadhav.

Skipper Rohit Sharma was able to score 52 runs in 39 balls with three sixes and six boundaries in the bag. Fellow opener of Rohit; Shikhar Dhawan was able to score 46 on 52 balls by making one six and six fours. Their glorious opening resulted in India taking home the victory in only 29 over.

Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik were both not out with same score of 31. India avenged for its humiliating defeat of 180 runs against their arch-rivals from the Champions Trophy match last year in London.

India and Pakistan have both been qualified for the fourth stage of Asia cup and they are fated to see each other in Dubai stadium on Sunday.

The Thursday match is going to be between Bangladesh and Afghanistan which will be held in Abu Dhabi. They have already been qualified for the second round after Sri Lanka crashed out of the play.

Two of the top teams from the Super fours are going to be up against for final on 28 September in Dubai.
