On Saturday, Stefanos Tsitsipas managed to gain the victory of the Next Gen ATP Final tournament in his match against Alex De Minaur. This is Stefanos Tsitsipas’s second Next Gen ATP Finals win.
Both opponents, who did not qualify for the last year’s U21 event, have shown excellent breakthrough and increase of their talents in 2018 as they pitted against each other in the final.
Stefanos Tsitsipas, at age 20 and standing at world ranking no. 15 was half a step ahead of his 19 years old Australian opponent Alex De Minaur as he won the final by 2-4, 4-1, 4-3 and 4-3.
Stefanos Tsitsipas was the top seed of the tournament after Alexander Zverev skipped the event for the second year after qualifying for ATP Finals.
World rank 31, Alex De Minaur managed to save two match points in the fourth set but his resistance gave out in the tie break.
Third place of the tournament goes to the Russian player Andrey Rublev who managed to win against Spain’s Jaume Munar in five sets match.
