After winning the 4trh ODI match against Pakistan, Australia has managed to extend their ODI win streak to 7 matches on Friday. Australia won over Pakistan in a thrilling match by 6 runs at Dubai despite Pakistani batsmen Abid Ali and Mohammed Rizwan scoring individual centuries.
With the 5 match ODI series already secured by Australia, the host set the target of 278 for the chase to win the 4th ODI match. Glenn Maxwell once again scored top from Australia’s side by scoring 98 runs off of 82 balls with 9 boundaries and 3 sixes.
With the 144 runs partnership between Ali who scored 112 runs and Rizwan who scored 104 runs, Pakistan was seemingly on its way for securing their first ODI win.
After Ali’s wicket fell in the 42nd over, Pakistan was in need of only 60 runs from the last remaining overs. However, they started to lose 6 wickets in the closing overs as the run rate climbed up steadily.
In the penultimate over, Muhammad Rizwan scored his 2nd century of the ODI series but he too fell after Pakistan only needed 17 runs in the final over, which was too much to ask for.
The final game of the 5 match ODI series will also be played at Dubai on Sunday. Australia is looking to clean sweep Pakistan with their 5th consecutive win while Pakistan is hoping to win at least one game of the series.
