Bazemore scores 23 points to lead Hawks for a win against Timberwolves by 123-120 in OT

With Hawks losing their momentum in the game late, and the sellout crowd cheering for the Timberwolves, Hawks coach Lloyd Pierce made a bold prediction.

Pierce said, “I told you guys by the third quarter that this is going to be our best win of the season”.

On the Friday night game between Atlanta Hawks VS Minnesota Timberwolves, Hawks were able to close in on the massive 23 points gap and win the game by 123-120 in the OT.

Kent Bazemore was the star player for the Hawks on Friday night as he scored 23 points while John Collins added in his 21 points for the team.

Dewayne Dedmon who made two big foul shots with 1.7 seconds to the game to preserve the game said, “It definitely shows how much confidence he has in our abilities. Just hearing him say that we can win, made us turn up the heat a little bit and we kept on fighting”.

Both Trae Young and Kevin Huerter scored 3-pointer shots in the final minutes of the game and with this Hawks have won their fifth game on the road.

Bazemore talking about his team said, “We are a young team and we like to play fast. With all the inexperience and trying to play fast; it is kind of a bad combination for taking care of the ball. As for Timberwolves, they were defeated by missed free throws, dunks, and their layups.

Bazemore, with 20 seconds to the game was able to drive the game in OT after breaking up the Wolves layup by stealing an inbound pass. Derrick rose’s buzzer-beating attempt to win the game in Wolves’ favor was halted by Justin Anderson.
