On Saturday night Bellator MMA fight; which is the biggest fight involving the two great MMA Brits fighters, Michael Venom Page won by a unanimous points decision against Paul Daley.
Page has retained his unbeaten record of 14-0 against his British rival in a fight that took place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. With this win, Page is now moving ahead into the Bellator’s Welterweight World Grand Prix tournament.
Page criticizing his opponent, after, all three judges gave him 48-47 points decision said, “He did not come to fight. He was only bragging about being a knockout artist. In our fight, he tried to have more takedowns that he has tried ever in his career. The one and only MVP is here to stay and to take the belt.”
After the cagey battle went into the first round, Page started with his trademarked innovative kicks. However, Daley replied back in an unusual way as he tried to take the fight to the floor.
Page stunned his opponent with a big right hand in the third round but Daley dragged him again to the floor where for the first time he landed some offensive punches.
Page in his career had never fought beyond fifteen minutes while Daly had only fought once in his 58 last fights. Daley was successful to takedown Page but Page retaliated with a flying knee to Daley’s eye.
The clock ticked and the fight went into the last round and Daley’s takedo2n was once again versed by Page who tied to lock in a rear naked choke.
The fight ended with Page winning on points which is his most significant fight of the career. Next, he will fight against Douglas Lima in the semi-final of the World Grand Prix.
