Bjorkstrand and Merzlikins lead as Columbus Blue Jackets beat Winnipeg Jets

Oliver Bjorkstrand sacred twice for the Columbus Blue Jackets while their goalie Elvis Merzlikins made 27 saves as the Blue Jackets won over the Winnipeg Jets by 4-3 to have their 6th win in a row.

The tie of the game was broken by Bjorkstrand with his top-shelf strike over the Winnipeg’s goalie named Laurent Brossoit as there were only 5 and half minutes left to the game. Bjorkstrand had his 2nd 2-goal game in a row after he was absent from 13 games for Columbus Blue Jackets due to his rib injury.




The other 2 goals for Columbus Blue Jackets were scored by Seth Jones and Gustav Nyquist respectively as they now go to their All-Star break and their much deserved NHL winter break after having a record of 16-2-4 since 9th December. As for Merzlikins, he won his 5th straight game as the starter for Columbus Blue Jackets while Pierre-Luc Dubois of the team was able to match his career-high of 3 assists.

Kyle Connor scored 1 goal and an assist for the Jets while their other 2 goals were scored by Mason Appleton and Neal Pionk respectively. As for their goalie, he made 25 saves.

As for the game of Minnesota Wild VS Detroit Red Wings, Eric Staal and Mats Zuccarello both scored 1 goal each for Minnesota as they won over Detroit by 4-2. Minnesota Wild goalie Devan Dubnyk made 25 saves as the Wild got their 3rd win in their last 4 games.

The other 2 goals for Wild were scored by Jordan Greenway and Jason Zucker respectively as the team is currently in the midst of their season-high of a 7-game homestand that will continue after the All-Star break.

Filip Zadina scored 2 goals for Red Wings and this is his first multi-goal game of NHL but both of these goals came on a deflection from a Minnesota player.
