Sacramento Kings usually try to win the games by running past opponents or behind the 3-pointer line. They are also learning as to how to win games by depending on their defense and making fewer mistakes on their offense.
The Sacramento Kings VS Charlotte Hornets game ended with Kings win by 104-97 on Saturday night s the defeated the road-weary Hornets. Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 22 points while Willie Cauley-Stein scored his second straight double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The kings with this win are 7-0 on the season as they held an opponent below 100 points.
Kings coach Dave Joerger said, “This was kind of a gritty win. We stuck with each other and kept on competing defensively and got the stops. A good win for us.”
De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield of the Kings both scored 21 points for the team who have now improved to 10-3 against Eastern Conference teams.
As for Hornets, they have fell 2-11 against the Western Conference teams with this defeat.
Kemba Walker led the Hornets with his 31 points and despite his 3 for 12 on the 3-pointers, Hornet with this loss have lost 3 straight games and 5 of their last 6 games.
Walker talking about team’s defeat said, “Just a lot of mistakes. We made a lot of mistakes down the stretch defensively and they were able to make plays on them. That’s really what it was. We came out with some great energy tonight. We were really conscious of that. We have not been playing with that kind of energy as of lately.”
Up next, Charlotte Hornets will play against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night. As for Sacramento Kings, they will be hosting a game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday as they wrap up their three-game homestand.
