Boston Red Sox of 2018 has become the winningest team in the franchise history ever.
With their Monday night win against Baltimore Orioles by 6-2; Boston Red Sox have a new franchise record with their 106th win. They were earlier tied with 1912’s team who was en route to World Series Championship with 105-47.
Scoreboards flashed 106 Wins as fans also waved in order for celebrating this record breaking win that has been standing for as long as the Fenway Park itself.
Alex Cora manger of the Boston Red Sox; after the monumental victory of Red Sox; told media that, “you think about all the history of this game and the history of this franchise. To be even part of it, I can’t even explain it in words. We are calling it timeout and enjoying this one. We also know what we are going to do in October, but this one; for us to do it is amazing”.
Alex Cora is in his first year as the team manager for Boston Red Sox.
While there 3 AL East titles and a record season might seem nice, the Red Sox’s eyes are on something much bigger and it is he World Series Championship. At the moment they know that they will open up a division series held at Fenway Park against the inner of AL Wild Card Game between New York Yankees and Oakland on 5th October.
Nonetheless for a franchise of 117 years old, it is a great accomplishment for a team to have more wins in a single season.
