Brook vs. Zerafa: Kell Brook wins over Michael Zerafa by unanimous decision in Sheffield

Kell Brook was able to win over his opponent Michael Zerafa in a hard-fought win by unanimous decision in Sheffield on Saturday.

Despite Brook being dominating in the 12 rounds match, he still had to work for it hard to get the win by 118-110, 119-109 and 117-111. With this win, Brook has eliminated the final opponent for the WBA Super-Welterweight World Title.

In his hometown with cheers of his home crowd in Sheffield, Brook took an early start with razor-sharp reflexes and stabbed his opponent with ramrod jabs and hooks around his guard.

With every shot landing, Melbourne star face, reddened shortly in the opener. The Special One had no intention of stopping as he landed a special three-shot combo and bloodied Zerafa’s nose which added to his problems.

Zerafa although had a good start still stood in the contest eating shots from time to time but he still landed in his own shots too. In the fifth Zerafa got his chance as he landed a series of thudding right hands on to Brook.

Sheffield man took control back in the sixth round and showed his strength with a series of chopping right hooks that left his opponent rocked.

In the following few rounds, Brook was visibly sloppy as the Australian’s right hand continued to cat him. The ninth round was the best for Zerafa as he forced the Brit in the corner by landing his five shot salvo with nothing back from Brook.

In the last round, Brook came out firing but was matched head on by his opponent. In the end, the match was ruled in Brook’s favor.

Brook said to media after the fight, “it was harder than I expected, it was a bit rusty. It’s the best training camp I ever had. I was a bit flat tonight”.
