Lomachenko VS Pedraza; Vasyl Lomachenko beats Jose Pedraza to unify lightweight belts

On the Saturday night boxing fight between Lomachenko VS Pedraza, Vasyl Lomachenko was able to win over his opponent Jose Pedraza by unanimous decision and added the WBO Lightweight world title to his WBA title.

Ukraine’s Lomachenko is a three weight world champion who was never able to unify two titles of the same class, knocked down his opponent twice in the explosive 11th round on Saturday.

Two judges made a verdict of 117-109 on scorecards whereas third made it 119-107 for the 30 years old Lomachenko. Lomachenko was fighting for the first time since his shoulder surgery. He suffered this shoulder injury back on May 12th against a fight with Jorge Linares which he won by a technical Knockout.’

By winning this fight, Lomachenko is set for a fight against Anthony Carolla who received the confirmation of WBA that he will be next in line to fight the winner of Saturday’s fight.

Lomachenko after winning the fights aid to media that, “I am happy. I move a little closer to my dream and to my goal. Two more belts and then maybe we can have a fight next year against Mikey Garcia”.

His goal is to unify all the major lightweight belts. Garcia is the unbeaten World Boxing Council 135-pound champion.
