Caldwell-Pope leads as Lakers end Utah Jazz’s 7-game win streak

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and his team Los Angeles Lakers might have been out of the playoffs for the past 1 month but they are still doing their role in thinning the Western conference little by little.

Caldwell-Pope led the LA Lakers on Sunday night against their game with Utah Jazz with his 32 scores to win over the Jazz by 113-109.  With this win, Lakers have finally ended the Jazz’s 7-game long winning streak.

The Lakers who had been riddled with injuries this season dressed mere 10 players and out of them only 8 players played. Out of those 8 major players, only JaVale McGee and Caldwell-Pope were the only one who played for Lakers’ opener.

Luke Walton, the Lakers coach said, “this was a type of win that our team needed very much and every player stepped up for this win.”

As for Utah Jazz, this loss was a major blow as they now feel 2 games below the Portland Trail Blazers for the fourth spot of the Western Conference playoffs. Trail Blazers must lose 2 games for Jazz to secure their 4th seed spot in the playoffs.

As for the Friday night game between LA Clipper VS LA Lakers, Clippers loss was another major blow for the Clippers as they will now have no chance of moving past the 6th seed in the playoffs.

Caldwell-Pope scored 8 of his 32 points in the 4th quarter as Lakers won their 2nd game in a row and 6th of their last 9 games. McGee did his part for the Lakers as he scored 22 points while Alex Caruso scored 18 points with 11 assists.

As for Utah Jazz, they were led by Rudy Gobert who scored 21 points with 10 rebounds while Donovan Mitchell scored 19 points.

Up next, Utah Jazz will host their final game of the regular season against Denver Nuggets while LA Lakers will finish their season run with last game against Portland Trail Blazers.
