Juan Martin del Potro defeated Albert Ramos Vinolas on Tuesday to curies into the second round of the China Open.
Del Potro the world no. 3 is playing his first match since his loss to Novak Djokovic in the US Open final this year. He I going to be up against Russian player Karen Khachanov on Wednesday, he is looking forward to win his 23rd Tour Title.
Del Potro can look forward for a spot on the season ending ATP Finals that is to be held in London if he manages to reach the final of China Open happening in Beijing. On the other hand other top players like Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have all qualified for their spots at The O2 event.
Spaniard Ramos Vinolas managed to hold back Del Potro in the first round but it was not enough as Del Potro was motivated for winning. He shot ten aces and also won 86 percent of his first serve points that secured him an easy victory.
Meanwhile at China Open, Grigor Dimitrov; the third seed defeat his American opponent Tennys Sandgren by 7-5 and 6-3 whereas another America player named Jack Sock got even a harsher defeat by hands of Nikoloz Basilashvili as he was defeated by 6-7, 7-5 and 6-2.
As for Spanish player Fernando Verdasco who eliminated Murray at not only US Open but also Shenzhen Open this year, defeated his opponent Gael Monfils by 2-6, 7-6 and 7-6.
More on Tuesday’s China Open, Flip Krajinovic was defeated by Mischa Zverev 6-1 and 6-4. Second seed Alexander Zverev is now to face Roberto Bautista Agut on Tuesday.
