Shenzhen Open; Andy Murray defeats David Goffin and reached the quarterfinals

Andy Murray hasamazed the fans by making n impressive comeback from his hip injury by defeating David Goffin. He defeated Goffin by 6-3, 6-4 and reached the quarterfinals of the Shenzhen Open.

Goffin made his appearance in the tournament as number one seed and also as the reigning champion. Murray on the other hand was ranked world no. 11th and was charged into the straight sets of the event that he won previously four years ago.

This is the last of the two tournaments; Shenzhen Open and China Open, which Murray has decided to partake in as he plans to retire t focus on improvement of his hip issues that is troubling him this year.

Little signs of discomfort showed on Murray’s face but he still took the first set. In the second set he aged a little but ultimately closed onto a victory against the opponent against whom he never lost in there five previous meetings.

Murray suffered in the opening matches of the tournament against the Chinese Wildcard player Zhang Zhinzhen on Tuesday after dropping a set. However he then managed to progress when his opponent retired suffering from a cramp.

Now with the top seed out of the way of Murray the tournament becomes or enticing as the Greek second rank Stefanos Tsitsipas also bundles out of the tournament after losing to Frenchman Pierre Hughes Herbert by 6-3, 7-6.

At the same time the British player Cameron Norie also defeated the Cortai’s third seed Borna Coric by 6-4 and 7-6.
