Simona Halep suffers from herniated disc injury; her appearance to WTA Finals in doubt

Simona Halep is suffering currently from the herniated disc injury and this has put her appearance in the 2018 WTA Finals in doubt.

Simona; the World No.1, suffered from this injury last week in her match at Wuhan Open against Slovakia’s Dominika Cibulkova which she lost in the second round.

The back problem for Simona further aggravated in her match against Ons Jabeur at her opening match of China Open. She retired from the match after only one round.

Halep tweeted about her condition on Tuesday that, “I had an MRI Scan and found out that I am suffering from a disc hernia. I am going to discuss the doctors about this and will get back to you all wit updates soon.”

Halep is the first player to have qualified for this year’s season ending WTA Finals which are being held in Singapore. The tournament is going to run from 21st October to 28th October.
