A perfect setup had been laid by Chris Sale of the Red Sox, which some are calling his acting worthy of a Broadway level, against the New York Yankees which they obviously fell for; a classic hook, line, and sinker.
Sale of the Sox had everyone from Yankees to crowd fooled into thinking that he had a sore shoulder and would be able to deliver the velocity to blow away hitters and would only reduce back to giving a soft-tossing pitcher performance.
However, to everyone’s shock, Sale managed his old fireballing pitches at the Fenway Park on Friday to secure a 5-4 win for Red Sox at their Game 1 of the American League Division Series.
It is now the first time ever since 2004’s American League Championship Series that Red Sox has beaten Yankees in a post-season game.
Mookie Betts; the Red Sox’s right fielder who has won the MVP award was only 11 years old back in 2004 ALCS. All-Star Aaron Judge of Yankees was 12 years old and their rookie candidate of the year Gelyber Torres was only 7 years old at that time.
Chris Sale of the Red Sox ho only pitched 17 innings since 12th August has let everyone know that he is fine as he threw 96 mph fastballs past Andrew McCutchen as he strikes out the first side.
Sandy Leon; the Red Sox catcher said to media before the start of the game that, ‘he is still the Chris Sale we know him to be. He has been looking forward to this game”.
