Red Sox’s Brock Holt; first to hit a cycle in MLB playoff history

Brock Holt now stands alone and tall in the MLB history.

Brock Holt, the infielder of Boston Red Sox wrote history by becoming the first payer in MLB’s history to it for the cycle during a postseason game.

He managed to make this feat a reality during the ninth innings of Red Sox vs. New York Yankees in the Game 3 route. He made the two-run home run off Austin Romine; catcher of the Yankees who was called off to throw the final innings of the game.

Holt after his monumental achievement talked to the press and said,

“You tend to get a little antsy when the position player is o the mound. I told everyone to get me up on the mound. I need a home run for a cycle. I was scooped up in the box and I was going to be swinging anything and try to hook anything. Of course, you cannot expect to hit a home run easily but I was trying to hit a home run. This is probably the first time I tried to do this sort of thing.”

Outfielder; Andrew Benintendi of the Sox told reporters that, “he was not at all shy about hitting the cycle. Everybody was rooting for him”.

Holt managed to gain an RBI ground-rule double during the eighth inning on top of his single and a two-run triple in the fourth inning.

Holt who was unaware of his achievement was told by a reporter of it. He said to them, “I am going to remember this one for a long time. You do not go into a game and expect to make history or anything like that”.

This was the first stat of Holt in the Game 3 of the postseason.
