Dan Evans is to play for Great Britain’s Davis Cup for the tie against Uzbekistan

Dan Evans is going to kick off the Great Britain Davis Cup to tie against Uzbekistan that is being held in Glasgow on Friday.

28 years old Evans is making it back to the team after serving the 1 year ban after he was tested positive for use of cocaine.

He came back in April and has already played in the second tier Challenge Tour.

Evans was the part of Great Britain team that managed to win the Davis Cup back in 2015. His year he is going to face World No. 60; Denis Istomin in his opening round match.

Andy Murray; the three times Grand Slam Champion is unable to make it into his match after suffering from recurring pain from his Hip surgery.

Kyle Edmund; who is British No. 1 and World No. 16 is also unable to participate in the tournament because of having recurring problems from his Tonsillitis.

British No.2 Cameron Norrie is up against World No. 434 Jurabek Karimov for the second single of the day. Jamie Murray and Dom Inglot are up against Sanjar Fayziev and Denis Istomin in the Saturday Doubles match.
