Dina Asher-Smith; the famous sprinter, has been named as the 2018 Sportswoman of the Year in an award ceremony held on Thursday night.
Back in August, the athlete won the 100m and 200 m at the European Athletics Championships in Berlin. She also helped the British squad immensely in their win at the 4*100 m relay.
With her achievements, she has become the first female European 100 m champion. The last time this achievement was in hands of Dorothy Hyman back in 1962.
There were many other winners for the night and one of them was Georgia Hall; the winner of Women British Open. She was awarded title of Young Sportswoman of the Year.
Menna Fitzpatrick along with her guide Jen Kehoe was awarded the title of Disability Sportswoman of the Year after she won the four Winter Paralympian gold medals held in Pyeongchang back in March for Great Britain.
As for Triathlon champion Trish Deykin; she won the Helen Rollason Award for her inspiration.
Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to the Outgoing Sports England chief executive Jennie Price CBE.
